Favourite quote

What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

This week

For some reason, Greenlane McDonalds has become my usual coffee stop. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice shop with good staff, but I try to frequent cafes which have a newspaper to read.

This skirt is a favorite of mine, bought it years ago when Jan and I used to go shopping together (I remember being so excited I twirled a bit fast and the skirt went very high, in front of Jan and the shop assistant). The skirt has a rubberized fabric and as my daughters pointed out earlier this week, it tends to cling to itself in ways that make the rear a bit higher that it probably should be.

I did a bit of a road trip with my fantastic wife today and after a few hours ran into a General Motors car club meeting. It was great seeing cars I rode in as a kid, looking brand new. It's sad to think one day we will be considered primitive for using petrol engines, but the noise and smell is just too good.
