What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

Far too hot for wigs etc

I had the day off to complete some chores, great girl time in the morning before the heat of the day kicked in.
Since our South Island trip, posted below, the temperature hasn't dropped much below 18 with the day temps reaching a muggy 29 although Auckland seems consistent with 25 degrees and 61% humidity after about 11 am.
Last weekend was all about planting 19 shrubs (that my wife got for free) in our baked soil and while I was already sweating, decided to partially cut down a concrete brick wall retaining wall and grind it level with the driveway - in other words - ZERO girl time, so today.....

Managed to get out to a coffee shop for coffee and a date scone

followed by a visit to two charity shops, the last one I found a lovely blue top and a fantastic red dress, I was so happy I just wanted to run around the shop and show off, even looked good without the wig. As soon as I got home I just had to take these photos for you, I really wish I knew a nice man who would take me on a date where these clothes would be appropriate.

Did my chores, including some grocery shopping and now it's time to get back in to the "real world"

Found Paradise

In Queenstown & Wanaka, New Zealand.

First I'd like to thank Eurocar car rentals for not having the cheap city car I rented and upgrading me to a Toyota Prado 4x4. Scared the heck out of me for the first hour as it took up a lot of road space, but now think I would buy such a great car if such things were good for the enviourment. Temperature for most of our time there was 27-31 C, unusually hot for their summer especially as it's known as a ski resort area.

We stayed with a cool hard working chinese couple who have made NZ their home, we rented one of their rooms while we toured the area.
As my wife didn't want me out in girl mode, I only took a pink top with me but luckily she had bras & skirts etc, so my mornings were relaxing around their kitchen making wife & myself breakfast before anyone woke up.

This shot was taken by my wife, she was paranoid about someone seeing, so it was a quick change in the car, photo specially for you (to prove I was there), and back to male mode.
I didn't really mind as I've not really been in a girl state of mind since mid January and looking at my hair, think it's time for a number 4 hair cut.

Getting a bit bored with this girl thing

Today was a quick 1 hour relax and reading my book at McDonalds while enjoying a coffee. Originally I wore my favourite top, only to realize as I was about to head out, that I wore it last week at the blood donor clinic, so a quick change to my blue top.

Because I've had a down turn in this need to be a female, wife has encouraged me to grow a beard over the last week. She says I look hot like George Michael did (she had the hots for him), but every time I looked in the mirror all I saw was Willie Nelson looking back at me.
Anyway the chin growth came off last night and this morning I had some time for myself.

I would have done something exciting except for one thing
I've just spent the last of my money on a hire car to use next weekend in Otago.
I know it's not right to have a favourite child, but I'm taking her and leaving her down there, to experience Otago University for the next 3 years.
At the same time my wife & I will spend a few days exploring the sights of Queenstown, Wanaka etc. Many of you have seen the scenery in Lord or the Rings, Cliffhanger (Sylvester Stallone) and Lake Wanaka was even mentioned by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible as a holiday spot. Nothing is so magical as sitting on the shore of Lake Wanaka, enjoying an ice cream from the ice cream booth while looking across at a snow covered Mt Aspiring and breathing crisp clean air on a warm summer day.
2002 photo as I flew around Mt Aspiring
Not Lake Wanaka, but there are so many I've forgotten this lakes name
As for me, I hope I get to do a horse back trek at Glenorchy, maybe ride past a film crew and be "discovered" as the next great action actor ("Mrs Doubtfire V'rs LOTR Orcs" - sounds like an exciting movie to me). I can't wait to be back down in the South Island.

PS. Just because I publish how great the area is, I didn't know Reese Witherspoon and Oprah would read my blog and turn up just hours latter at Queenstown, think I might have to buy a new dress in case I "bump into them"

Donating Blood

The thing with my Cross Dressing, well it's about letting out a "sub personality" who will often nag me if I don't give her time, which in turn makes me grumpy.

Well last weekend was so great and relaxing even without girl time, "Rachel" has not interrupted my life since before that weekend so there has been no pressure for girl time and I still feel great.
Even so, I did decide to have a bit of fun before spending a few hours panel beating my car dents out (not the car that Miss 17 wrote off on Jan 1st) and giving the paint a cut and polish

I dropped of Miss 14 for her first day of school for 2017. She had a 4 hour school day and I was expecting to pick her and a friend up at 2 pm.
In the car I tried to discretely get changed, I'm unsure how well that worked but it was a quiet road. Make up was Thin Lizzy concealer, lip stick and mascara
Cool rainy start to the day at the coffee shop

Coffee and a snack at Hollywood Bakery, read the national paper and offered the paper to a elderly couple who were also hoping to read it while they had their morning coffee. I think they were a bit surprised that I was willing to interact with them instead of just leaving the paper on my table as I left,

Afterwards I headed to the Blood Bank to donate some blood - it's a 3 day weekend here and I'm hoping no one will need it as our cities empty out for the 3 day break.
I had a great chat with the nurse and she was surprised I dress for myself and that I have no interest in men as she had assumed (like most people) that cross dresses dress to attract men - ever had that discussion with your women folk, ask them who they dress for and most will say for themselves, so no difference really.
She asked if I prefer Miss or Mrs, I replied Mr (she did have my male drivers licence and I'm normally Mr when I go there) was fine for me although probably not cool for others
The day is getting too hot for a wig, the nurses are also hot, luckily the blood bank has aircon.

On the way home I stopped at the auto shop for some new polishing pads for my machine, got home and changed 2 minutes before Miss 17 friends drove up.

I've been feeling so good since last weekend that I feel like I could give up cross dressing.
We all know how that doesn't work, the number of times I've "stopped" in the past and so I know having dual personalities is a life long event and we just have to make the best of it.
While there is a good "Ladies Night" at the local movie house, I don't expect to feel the need and I hope I won't need to be in girl mode for the next 7 days or so.
I do love writing to you and want to tell you all about my girl time but don't be surprised if nothing happens for a week or two.
