What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

Doppleganger

Had a busy week and over the weekend rebuilt a friends shed. After a early Sunday coffee I headed to Mitre 10 for some wood trim to finish the rebuild.

On Monday, I had to pick up meds from the chemist and as I walked in, an attractive woman was a few seconds in front of me. As we entered, we put our masks on as it's still a thing here. I followed her to the counter where she started a discussion with a sales assistant. She then moved away from the counter when the sales lady back was turned, and when the SA turned back around, she continued her discussion with me while I was still a bit away until she realized her client had moved to the other side of the counter.
I started looking at the woman and realized how much her hair was like mine, her eyes and eyebrows the same, we were even standing with the same pose. While she had a long dark purple dress, I had a black skirt and brownish top but we looked like we could have been twin sisters.

Slight regret

Normally my days routinely boring, often the most exciting thing is picking up some groceries like last Tuesday. Got wine, peanut butter, some Jalapenos for some dip I was making, milk, cat and dog food etc.

Friday I was scheduled to do some house / dog sitting for my son-in-law, but having a couple of hours to kill, I decided to check out some clothes at the local shopping center and have dinner in the food court.

I enjoyed a Yorkshire roast meal (potatoes, beef and lots of gravy).

This is where I found regret, regret that I didn't buy this lovely dress. I thought long and hard, but it turns out as I had thought it, I probably wouldn't go anywhere posh enough to wear such a dress.

This morning I went out and checked a beautiful winter sunrise and grabbed a coffee, while trying to rock this white knitted dress that was my daughters

Week off

I keep telling myself, I've had a week off work.

It means, while I haven't sat at my desk for 5 whole days, I've had to work harder than most weeks.

Lets see, built a garden shed for a friend, then at home, removed a house full of carpet, painted the trim, re-furbished a second hand kitchen unit and fitted it. One day I'll have a new house that doesn't require maintenance until after I've died of old age.

I should probably shave more often, but it's stating to be just another chore.
