What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

Impatience

Yesterday after work, I had my eye brows shaped at a local shopping mall beauty shop. Later in the evening I "Borrowed" Miss 18 fancy nail polish from the USA. Miss 13 trying to be a professional make up artist applied it. It's really nice and I want to show off and never take it off - so love it :)

Today it's meant to be raining and wife was lifting Miss 18 between parties until some ungodly time in the morning, so I should have been able to get quite a few girl hours in.
I got up at 6.30, make up on and at McDonalds for an early morning coffee by 7 am. The girls there are really nice to me and she sneaked a few marsh mellows in to my drink and made it look extra fancy. Such great girls there, probably why it's a regular coffee stop for me and my wife.

BUT... It's a lovey sunny morning and I couldn't stop thinking about my wife and wanting to get home to be there with a cup of tea and biscuits for when she woke up after such a broken night for her (yes I slept through all the phone calls and "lifting"). While I want to have fun with her today, my guess is she will have me finish the balustrade by building a fancy gate

Before I added the roof
For years we never used this area

After I added the roof and fitted the refurbished balustrade, with many of the spindles having to be extended as they used to be on a stairwell
This area now gets a lot of use, even though it's winter and rainy. Just need a gate built and fitted to keep the dog in.
I love building stuff in my boy time

On the way home I picked up some bread & milk (and biscuits) for everyone's breakfast, please don't tell wife that I went to our local supermarket - where someone we might have known, might have been there at 8 am, while dressed in maroon top and shiny black pants.

Busy little day

Yesterday - got jealous of Miss 18 new nail polish, really need my own and dark red.

Today - 8am and went and got my own nail polish, I also needed to visit the library after 9 am so got a coffee while I waited for the library to open.

I would like to thank my 23 year old for lending me this lovely dress, I hope she leaves it for me next time she moves out.

After the library (about 10 am) I went home and prepared the meal in the slow cooker, then got changed in to my blue top and black pants and boots. With the clothes swap I took Miss 18 to work, grabbed extra stuff from the supermarket for tonight's dinner, then chilled out at McDonalds at the Auckland Airport as I waited for Miss 23 flight to arrive.
Returning home I then changed back in to drab (boring mens clothes. took off makeup and nail polish) before taking Miss 13 to see Ghost Busters at the local movies.
Dressed for 6 hours is probably a new record for me, unsure what the neighbours think of me coming & going from the house but may find out when I next go over for drinks.

Few Monday hours

Raced home and got the dinner cooked for everyone.
I get home about a hour before wife does, so it's quicker if I cook
After dinner I volunteered to do the weekly shop,
But first things first - a drink at Garrison Pub, Sylvia Park.

A lady should never drink alone, so uncool, however if you were here I might not have stopped at 1 drink as we chatted in to the night. But since I was alone, I read the paper instead :(
Really nice relaxed pub even if the wine did cost $8

Got changed in to more casual clothes for the grocery shopping (jeans, boots and long sleeve top)

Cheap Tuesdays at the movies

After so long without girl time, I found myself starting to get cranky.
I had planned a weekend outing, but got busy and had friends over, so re-schedualed to Monday.
Monday had daughters new boy friend over for dinner.
Tuesday - nearly didn't get out, tired, but wife took over the chores (a run to the airport), so a quick change in to oldest daughters dress and out the door.
I had hoped to go to a quiet bar for a glass of wine, but all my local bars were full and since I was alone, I got scared, I mean, what sort of person goes and drinks alone - only crazy or lonely people right?

Well if you think we aren't noticed when we step out the door - the coffee shop I went to knew my order, even though it was only my second visit, the first being about 5 weeks ago.

Sorry about my cheap phone camera quality

I got to watch Money Monsters (not Tarzan - but thanks to staff for taking the photo), it was alright for some light entertainment.

Wednesday-
You know your getting old when you have to go for blood tests, make sure your iron levels are up and all the other stuff they check. The nurse was really nice and helped me relax.
