What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

A bit of fun on a sunny afternoon

First,
Friday evening and I was hoping to go to the pub for a drink but all my local pubs were filled with MEN (yuk, where's all the girls). But finally I did find a nice cafe filled with mostly females so I stopped in for a cake and coffee.
Being in a hurry, I timed myself from Shower to the front door (make up and dressed) 20 minutes.

I'm still finding it hard to be a female with my loud hacking cough, but at least it made me feel better.

Saturday morning - My sleep was crap and at 7 am I decided to have a MacDonald coffee to help take away the scratchiness of my throat.

Feeling a bit better, I meandered home around 8 am and relaxed on my front porch for an hour waiting for the family to wake up. I feed the birds that were hanging around for breakfast and relaxed watching over the neighbours (maybe them watching me if they were awake).

So about 10 days after my antibiotics ran out, I got a secondary infection.
I really want to live my life and not give all my surplus money to doctors.
"One day" I keep telling myself, but as the kids get older and leave home, our expenditure transfers from them, too medical bills or the pets.

Day 22 of my "man flu"

Colds gone, as have the antibiotics, but I'm coughing like a dog to the point of vomiting and I'm very low on energy.
I'm not really feeling very feminine, in fact so much that I feel I could give up this girlish part of me (who hasn't done that before, only to have it return ten fold).
I'm feeling like I've been in the cabin far to long, and in desperate need of a motorbike or parachute, or a raft on white water, so I can feel the wind in my hair and FREEDOM.

But on one of my "better" morning, without make up, without a wig, and supporting a 5 day beard growth - I ventured out in a "I don't give a rats arse" mood, in skinny jeans and the top my wife bought me years ago in Paris.

Kind of funny, chin not shaved for days, but legs shaved yesterday.

Being a bit restless today, wife gave me permission to dress and go out for a drink, even selected 2 outfits, but the mood just isn't there and my cough would extinguish any femininity that I might have owned.

Maybe next time, I'll have a pretty dress on and a glass of wine.
I mean, that's why your here reading about this life style, just be aware, real life still happens to us.

Man flu, never expected that

So last week, I had a cold bug, had a day off work, took a few silly selfies while trying to relax doing nothing. I hate doing nothing - it's the most boring thing to do.

So I decided to look into "why" our dish washer wasn't cleaning properly - think I found the answer just under the sparkling clean filter plate.

Mid week, I had another day off, this time to drive the wife to hospital for a procedure, I gave her the cold the day before, but maybe the anesthetic killed the cold for her?

So today, I had the day off to take a good friend to the airport. This morning while we chatted at my house, I was wearing my favorite dress but changed back to boy mode for a brunch before dropping her off at the airport.
My cough was so bad, 10 days and still coughing up lots of yuk, I decided to go to the doctors.
I had an hour to kill before the appointment and decided to go for a coffee.
Walking into the crowded McDonald's, quite a few people noticed me (5 minute make up job probably didn't help) so I looked them in the eye and smiled back to them. After the coffee I then visited the library (just behind the doctors) for 15 minutes and eventually meandered over to the doctors where I ended up waiting 20 minutes after the appointment time.
It's really hard being a lady, when you have a loud hacking cough.

Got a cold bug

Any idea how long make up lasts, when you have to blow your nose every 60 seconds - not very long.

Yesterday, wife, youngest and myself went out for a day trip to Raglan.
For 40 years, all I knew was they made reasonable coffee there, but I was sure there was more to the place, so we did the 2 hour drive.

What I found was a slice of paradise

The thing with New Zealand, where ever I seem to go, from the Bluff to the Cape, I always find a magical place within a short drive.

Anyway, this is meant to be a blog about cross dressing, and the fact that there's a Classic and European car show just up the road, with what looks like about 1,071 beautiful cars, is not going to distract me about telling you about my shit of a cold, sniffles all night, up at 5.30, dressed by 6 all the while using up a roll of toilet paper blowing my nose and taking drugs to help me get through the morning.
Coffee Number 1

I invested $5 on forms to give me a more feminine crotch, god knows why, but I think they work on about 30% of my pants, the rest of my pants show the upper cuts of the form.

Besides, I much prefer skirts

Losing my "Girls room", car issues, lack of sleep etc

Got relatives AGAIN.......(for 3 weeks starting in a few days)
Time to move ALL my girl stuff in to our main bedroom (if there's room in the wardrobe and draws)
Time to dismantle my large study / computer desk, and leave it "broken down" in the corner of the TV room. I've enough electronics, nail polish and make up to hide to fill a large suitcase.
Then I have to assemble a bunk set in my room.

Thursday saw me working from 7 am until 7 am Friday.
When I woke up on Friday (around 11.30 and still dead tired) I slipped on comfortable tights and top, watched a Tom Cruise movie with half sleepy eyes.
I eventually had to borrow the son-in-laws car to drop of my daughter at a work meeting at 3.30 and pick her up at 4 pm.
The 30 minutes in between was the only ME time (it seems like forever since I've been me) - consisting of visiting the jewellers to pick up my wifes engagement ring, and get more milk from the shops.

Car issues - the cars know when I've a bit extra coin in my purse.
This week with my "extra" money I had to get my car checked (my OBD2 isn't compatible with a 2009 Swift) costing $60.
The mechanics machine says "throttle body", the cost being about $650 to replace.
So I bought MAF cleaner and carb cleaner for $30, stripped, cleaned and reassembled the parts, problem solved, saving myself $620. Think I should do the other car as it's meant to be on a 5 year maintenance schedule.

MONDAY
Love public holidays, but still not enough sleep which is effecting my concentration.
First thing, a 7 am coffee.
It's early enough that "age appropriate" shouldn't apply

After coffee, a quick car change to something more appropriate to wear in to Bunnings for some hardware (wood for shelving)

I eventually meet up with Josie, who I haven't see for what seems like the longest time (probably only a month) for a relaxing beach walk and catch up because it's nice having someone you can relate too.

I'm finally allowed to publish photos from the wedding (obviously not putting my girls photos up)
I think most fathers dread the day that they have to present their daughters to another man. I suppose it's the day we are no longer their "rock", no longer "that person" they come to first, in times of need. Happy they are happy, sad because your relationship will never be as it was.
