What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

Suns shining at last.

Early rise before all the other bods get up.
Had my coffee, read the newspaper, then decided to check out the beach activity - joggers only.

After the beach, I did a quick change to skinny jeans, then drove past the rock climbing building but realized I didn't have the right shoes for climbing - drove home to find wife and 2 daughters awake in the living room, the youngest stating in an accusing way "so that's where my denim jacket went!".

my idea of fun...

Great weekend with the wife, Redwood forest walk, great dinning, private geothermal spa (swimsuit optional......) and a little adventure in Rotorua, our little geothermal playground.

Big thanks to the great guys and girls working at Kaituna Cascades

Sleep deprived outing

Just worked 5 am yesterday to 6 am this morning (25 hours for those not counting)
It wasn't so bad, I did have 90 minutes sleep half way through.
Desperately trying to sleep, but with dogs on the bed and the sun shining on the curtains, it's not going to be one of those mornings.

So I get up after probably 1 hour sleep, dressed and took the daughter to work before heading to the shops.
Need coffee and it's always a good place to start the day.

After an hour of checking out all the women's shops in the mall, I finally found a top that I had a liking for, if only it came in a large. I also really loved the red flowers on the form fitting skirt, again a large size would have had me parting with my money.

I would love to post more picture in the coming days but I'm off to Rotorua to get a bit of white water rafting (in boy mode), see some volcanic activity and get some naughty nights away with my wife.

renovation weekend

Been plastering what few walls the builders have fitted drywall on, painted some of the exterior of the new build.
Visited a friends and fitted an oven range hood.
Feels like I'm covered in plaster and paint, hair messy, been so focused on the renovations I haven't even thought about girl time.

Lazy Sunday

Last week - on the Gold Coast for my dads 80th birthday.
Resting on the beach, but by 10 am we're all looking for shelter from the hot sun.

This weekend, back home, emptying the bucket under the roof leak every 3 hours and watching the hail stones melt. The dogs aren't going outside in this weather, but one has already gone inside, on the carpet.

Today is about being house bound, or maybe stealing an hour here or there.
In the early hours before the rains hit, I did manage a coffee outing and saw an amazing sunrise that the clouds were desperately trying to conceal.

After lunch with the wife, I decided to check out the mall (what else does one do when it's raining, okay I could have gone to the indoor rock climbing, but that's a two person sport).
I now know why I prefer the mornings, the mall was so packed I had trouble get out of some of the shops trying not to boob them, but I did manage to get my eyebrows shaped.

I'm not sure how, but the coffee girl remembered me after months away, I told JJ, she reckoned it was because of my smile
