What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

Observations after the anti-trans rally

So one woman commented about boys who identify as girls, using girls changing rooms and it got me to thinking

I wouldn't like that at the pools or other locations where there isn't a private cubical (luckily I was allowed to use the private "family rooms") . On the other hand the ladies change rooms at the clothing shop does have individual cubicles so isn't a problem.

But then, being raised as a naturalist, why do we have issues with our genitals, or Michelangelo's David sculpture, is that in itself, some sort of perversion that society wishes to normalize? I remember how giddy my teenage friends got at topless beach while I was more interested in body surfing, until my head hit the sandy beach bottom in a not to gentle way.

So many different points of view, but whichever you take, it should be with respect for others as well.

Anyway, this is not me thinking too hard about the subject while shopping in Newmarket

Or having coffee or picking up groceries at my local outlets.

Free speech is a bit like a free lunch

I'm for free speech (free of hate, free of victimization), but that doesn't mean we give everyone a microphone or need to point a TV camera at every plonker who wants to say something.

It's funny how people can "feel threatened" by a man who prefers to be a compassionate, caring, empathetic woman, yet rapists, murders, bikie thugs, child bashers etc are well down on their list of cares, where are the good people who are anti that sort of stuff, or are they out there, but just didn't get the microphone?

Busy Saturday, had a great time with grandson and I fixing grandma's car (oil & water) and 3 hours of home maintenance, digging and braking open some drain pipes and re-fixing them, mowing the lawn. It's important to have boys time even if the jobs takes 3 times longer. The nice thing about fluidity is it's just as easy to be the role model grandpa (and neither is an act, but each just part of what makes "me")

Anyway, fun Sunday without upsetting anyone....

Oil and filter change. Oil from The Warehouse and filter from Repco, which was a mistake as Repco had a special deal on both that would have saved me a bit of money. The change went well except my makeup was ruined by black oil splashed on my face.

Luckily I had breakfast coffee earlier
I also needed a keyboard for home, so visited Noel Lemming - they were my favourite shop when they first opened and I still have my coffee table from about 30 years ago.

With the oil change done, I had to replace the brake pads, so back to Repco for pads. Funnily enough, even though I had changed my clothes, the staff member still remembered me 😁 (from an hour earlier)

Another excuse for a late brunch.

So, the big news - no woman went unheard while I was dressed the way I feel comfortable, no woman appeared offended (okay, maybe amused judging by the smiles).

My daughters remind me, being a woman is way better than being a man, and I tend to agree.

Earlier in the week, being encouraged by some woman looking trendy with strapping around her chest and shoulders, I felt like my corset might also be on trend - or not, but it does feel nice having support around my waist.

Dinner and shopping - living the dream

So I had a bit of time this afternoon, so stopped at Westfield 277 shopping complex in Newmarket and had a lovely roast dinner from the food court, followed by shopping and eventually a relaxing coffee where I could do lots of people watching.

Being a well-to-do trendy spot meant I got to see women in lots of vibrant fashion outfits. Lots of school aged children also shopping, I got the impression not many have seen a crossdresser and one middle aged woman gave out a sudden snicker when we nearly bumped into each other on a corner, I just smiled and acknowledged her surprise - I probably should have been hyper sensitive and offended, but I'm too lazy 😄

Yes, I had to try on the little black pvc skirt in the background, it was a little bit too slutty for me (and I wasn't in that type of mood - just then)

I had a couple of other coffee stops, but that's as boring as watching a snail race.

Different point of view

We have an overseas visitor staying with us. We want to show them the area a bit and wife has invited all the grown up, well paid kids to come along as well as other relatives. We will be out around lunchtime and will buy the visitor lunch since we will be out. But....

The wife feels it's unfair to buy the visitor lunch and no one else, so she's stressing that she will have to pay for everyone that turns up (probably 10-12 people) and maybe just have ice cream for lunch. I'm a bit harder and while happy to pay for the visitors lunch, all the others buy what they want to pay for. One of my kids, when they hear we're paying, goes for the most expensive meal on the menu, the others are kinder on our pockets. So anyway - out for lunch soon, maybe it's going to be 12 x $5 ice creams or maybe I might get a real lunch.

Back now, and since we were last at the table thanks to grandchild wanting longer play on the playground, everyone else had ordered their food separately. We went to Dos Amigos, that in itself was interesting but they were a cashless food outlet, meaning we had to order online, something I'm not into - maybe it's a play to exclude older people without saying "only under 30's welcome".

Anyway, what's with the real life story when there's the crossdressing subject

So Saturday morning I was dressed in tight clothes similar to Sandy from Grease - you know the outfit, but with dark hair, slightly pot belly on a middle aged male, probably not such a good look, but still a great excuse to were lycra tights that moved and felt so much better than any mens clothing was an absolute delight to wear - if only I had taken a photo or 2. Later in the day I was in business skirt and casual top for a relaxing coffee at Sylvia Park.

So a review of the week.. and it turns out a very black and white type of week.
