What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

My dads 84th birthday

But I'm in the wrong country to join him but my sister visited him and we had a nice facetime. We got talking about movies we have seen and brother-in-law asked if I wore pink to Barbie, I responded with "no comment" which got a couple of chuckles. I sent my sister the photo and she said "I thought so".

Myself and family are having a run on a bad coughing cold, it's really hard to cough and sneeze in a lady like manner and since I can't be bothered with voice training, I doubt I'll be trying to tame a cough or sneeze in this life.

Week has been busy and I'm feeling worn out, probably the cold doesn't help.

Shopping at Newmarket shopping center is always fun

It was quite cold this morning so I wore black stockings under my fishnets, what a difference to how warm my legs were and how easy the fishnets are to put on and off when there's a layer underneath.

Wife bought a new wrap dress from Shein, but didn't like how it fitted on her, so she gave it to me. I kind of like it but in a breeze it does show a lot of leg, walking into the supermarket, it felt like it was open all the way up to my hips.

OMG Margot Robbie

Okay, so I got my pink top on and saw Barbie

While there no denying Margot is the most attractive woman on the planet, her acting is absolutely fantastic (as usual) and she had me happy, sad and all the other feelings that went into what should be the best movie of the decade. Being over 50 and a Sci-Fi fan the first 3 minutes had me in stitches with the opening, however the under 30's probably won't get it, "but that's evolution Baby." The story line is great and a must see for 12 year old girls and older (no age limit on older, would still be great for the over 90's). I really wished Ruth Handler could have been in the movie, but she passed in 2002. I think I might have to see it again soon as there's quite a bit to unpack and who knows, it's probably a better and more current character study than Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet for schools to study.

Anyway, go see it

Earlier in the week, as well as removing half a wall, fixing a hot water leak where rats have eaten into my pipe, I also took the opportunity to re-locate a light switch that has bugged me for the last 10 years and once I pick up another bit of dry wall and plastering it in, and eventually painting it.... home ownership is often a lot of work. So to relax, I often go out for coffee :)

I must admit, I got quite a few looks, the expressions were like "oh look, a crossdresser" that didn't feel so good (20%), and other times (80%) just a knowing smile from people passing - I do like that, it's like "I see you and it's okay to be a woman"

Managed to escape for a day

Earlier in the week, trying to put a sporty look on, went out for an early coffee break.

Not going to show you those photos, looking like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards, hair pretty much sticking up in all directions and tights looking baggy around the knees (or maybe I have baggy knees and the tights are just doing their thing).

Anyway, managed to get Sunday to myself, a bit of shopping in the morning at Newmarket.

After the shops, a quick visit to a garden center and was very surprised at just how many plants are flowering, counting my blessings wife wasn't there to see it otherwise I'd probably need a trailer to get her purchases home - just kidding, but she does love gardening.

In the afternoon, I managed a stroll around (and get a bit lost) in the Auckland Museum just to pass a couple of hours. I did enjoy the Auckand Stories section and a photo expo by someone who traveled the lower south island back in the late 70's.

Having fun with mirrors, I could see 3 of me, but the camera decided 2 was more than enough for you 😁

Working weekend

I consider digging up and removing about 600Kg of concrete path as a working weekend, okay the jack hammer was fun but moving the concrete around and on to the trailer would have been more fun if someone else did that bit. My hand have dried out and cracked and my arms feel so sore, I'll be upset if my biceps don't look as big Arnolds tomorrow morning

Luckily my life is quite well balanced with other less physical stuff 😁

Brunch was annoying the other day, an old lady got the shops newspaper before I arrived, she was on page 5 when her friends arrived, her coffee arrived and landed on page 5 and never moved for the next 30 minutes. I was mostly NOT HAPPY at the inconsiderate old - anyway I tried to smile for the camera.

I stopped for a coffee at the mall on Thursday - it's open late but was quite busy by 5.30pm. Wore my brown boots, which I think look really nice, but my feet were killing me within 50 meters. I've asked wife to drop them in at an Op Shop when she next passes one.

Daughter purchased two pairs of tights, the type that crinkles around the bum like this

I always thought they were horrid, but after daughter gave me a pair which colouring she didn't like, I decided to give them a try (I have a flat bum in case you think it's like the photo above).

This weekend wife wasn't feeling to well and let me out for a few hours to relax before working on the garden alterations. Another coffee and a bit of shopping and I'm actually starting to like the new wig. I keep forgetting to buy nail polish remover, as I'm to busy looking at clothes, hope no one notices at work.

I'm finding that I have more fun with the general public (males and females) while in girl mode, than I ever had in boy mode, whether it's just a "good morning" or a chat about a product or the weather, or a nice car etc.

Car trouble - another unwanted bill :(

Mechanic had my car for 6 hours this week. After I dropped it off, I took a bus to the local mall, had lunch and coffee, then later a Coke, took a book to read and did a bit of meandering around the shops trying on a couple of outfits. Mechanic luckily didn't actually take 6 hours but they had to get a new part from their supplier couriered over. Yes I look a bit wind blown - these windy, rainy days aren't that much fun. I do really like my new (warm and waterproof) jacket, it was a great purchase $55 from Mirrou Henderson

Cat found a totally unacceptable "new sleeping spot", took days to convince him not to sleep there.

Visited Mitre 10 hardware store and picked up a few bags of gravel and pavers.

Had a few coffees / brunch out and about this week
