What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.

3 hours of girl time

It doesn't sound like much, but it's enough to take the hard edge off my nerves.

I had to leave home in boy mode due to the people at home, so it was a car change. I realized I forgot to bring make up wipes, so had to go minimalistic, foundation, mascara and lipstick. It will mean visiting a ladies room before getting home and using a wet paper towel to remove as much as possible.

First stop, McDonald's for lunch.
Delicious coffee, the Big Mac makes my library card look big.
I'm sure back as a kid, the Big Mac was big, but still, it was enough and so tasty.

I finished my coffee at Takapuna beach. Found a very nice lady who took this photo for us, with Rangitoto Island in the back ground.
While I was wearing wide heels, it's still difficult to walk on the sand so I ended up barefoot for my stroll. I think half the city was out enjoying the warm weather today.

On the way home I stopped at Bunnings, visited the ladies room for a leak and to remove my make up, also a good time to by some trim for the never ending bathroom renovation that the wife has been mentioning for a few months now

Out early so as not to wake the house

Stressed, for no reason what-so-ever and awake at 4 am.
I decide to sneak out for a coffee because if I'm moving around the house, making a drink etc, the dogs will wake up and then wake up everyone else.

At least with coffee and my book, I can relax and watch the other insomniacs come in for food and a drink.
Eventually got tired again around 7 am, went home and caught a few more hours of sleep.

Quiet start to the day

7 am and sun rise is still 30 minutes away.
This morning (aka 4.30 am) with the dogs sleeping on me, I decided move to the lounge and test my sleeping bag. The label says I should be good down to zero, but the lounge is still about 10 degrees and outside on the front deck it's not much colder.

Anyway back to a 7 am wake up, dressed and out the door by 7.20 for a coffee

After coffee, I head out to Mitre 10 hardware for a canister of camp stove gas. Kids laugh every time I buy something from an overseas web site, but my little camp stove arrived 2 weeks early, with everything it promised and once home with my gas, it tested beautifully - reckon apart from some serious hiking clothes, I should be good for hiking up to the snow line by November when the weather warms up a bit.
Before getting home, I visited Kmart, hoping to find some nice fashionable, aka trendy tights, looks like I was too late but somewhere here should be a neoprene one piece swimsuit (probably only 1 mm) but no sign of any and checking just now, their online store has also run out. Bugger, I would have loved a super tight neoprene one piece, hopefully they will re-stock soon.

Home again.
Wife's just woken up and I'm about to make her morning coffee, that's her in the background attempting to pat the dog (he's so fast, it would be easier to pat a bird as it passes by).
Renovations have stopped, builders have moved on to another job and have been away so long, that the bags of cement they left here for the next stage have nearly turned into concrete paving slabs.
I'm hoping to get to the rock climbing venue soon, I want to learn single rope ascending, would love to go in girl mode and wear tights as they are flexible and comfortable, but I think the harness strapped around the top of my legs might cause an issue 😄

Lost my Girl

The cold bug lasted longer than I expected (9 days) and at the end, I realized Rachel has been missing since last Monday.
Without Rachel in my life, I'm starting to get hairier than a Wookie convention.
Normally, most people would "purge" their inner girl stuff (clothes, make up etc) during one of these phases, goodness knows I have about 3 times in my life, but Rachel always returns and hates it when I throw her stuff out.
I'm kind of expecting Rachel to "turn up" once I'm 100% fit but to be honest, I'm glad she's away at the moment as it allows me to think about cool boy stuff (rock climbing, skiing, motorbikes etc).
