Man Flu

Well not quite, but bad time to get a cold (cough, sniffles and sneezing).
It is rapidly turning into winter and temperatures are plummeting.
The doctors refuse to see me but charged $50 to say "have a test and wait until the symptoms disappear".
So I quickly ran off to the testing station and had the long straw stuck up my nose.
A day later I get a Negative for Covid, but no meds for the symptoms.
Symptoms diminish to just an hour in the cold mornings.

At home with just a couple of kids home, I decided it's a good day to dress up.

Today I did a bit of learning.
A few months I watched a YouTube video......
Today...
I rope ascended up a tree and over a branch.
Grazed my knuckles and arms going over the branch
note to self - next time don't rope over a branch.
Once up the tree, I fumbled and dropped my descender to the ground 3 meters below my perch.
note to self - DO NOT DROP DESCENDER.

Tomorrow's learning, will be up a tree with a chainsaw 😃

Last day of lock down

I've been working the last 2 weeks which has been a little bit difficult with 1/2 of my clients still away from work. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, when 90% of my clients should be back to a semi-normal workflow.

In the last 6 weeks, I've shaved 3 times. It was kind of fun having a bit of a beard, I liked the rough look when I looked in the mirror, even if the wife didn't.
I haven't really thought much of "Rachel", her usual nagging to get dressed and go out hasn't really happened - bet she's going to want to make up for the lost time though.
I thought buying pretty clothes online or painting my nails once or twice might encourage her, but not a peep for ages.
It goes to show how having projects can keep me, a little bit more sane.

I've finally committed to a Scuba Diving PADI open water course, first the doctors visit to say I'm as healthy as any 22 year old (I'd even accept "as healthy as a 40 year old"). That's early next week.

Speaking of age, thought I should have a look back to 2010.
